Run duration depends on the type of flow cell and number of cycles. For more information and sample run times, see the NextSeq 550 System data sheet in the product literature section of this page.
Scanning takes approximately 40 minutes per BeadChip. The Infinium CytoSNP-850K and Infinium MethylationEPIC v2.0 BeadChips can be scanned at a rate of approximately 5 minutes per sample. The HumanCytoSNP-12 and HumanKaryomap-12 BeadChips are scanned at a rate of 3.5 minutes per sample.
No, simultaneous sequencing and array scanning is not possible on the NextSeq 550 System because the BeadChip and flow cell use the same imaging components.
Yes, NextSeq 500/550 kits include reagents for paired-end sequencing and a paired-end flow cell. However, single-read runs are possible on a paired-end flow cell when the run is set up as a single-read run.
The data set generated by the NextSeq 550 System is too large for on-instrument analysis. Data must be transferred to BaseSpace Sequence Hub or a local server for secondary analysis.
NextSeq 550 Systems running NCS v4 or later and use Local Run Manager software modules for on-instrument analysis. Additional analysis tools are available on BaseSpace Sequence Hub. You can also configure the NextSeq 550 System to transfer data to a local server and perform analysis using third-party software.
